Start Here
Welcome. I’m glad you are here.
my Body can is my ongoing record of rebuilding strength, mobility, and confidence in midlife after years of illness, injury, hormonal chaos, and long stretches where movement felt impossible. If you are new here, this page will help you find your way into the project.
What this space is for
my Body can is not a plan or a program. It is a lived experience shared in real time. I talk honestly about what it feels like to return to movement in a body that has been through a lot. Some days I make discoveries. Some days I wobble. Every day teaches me something.
Think of this space as a movement journal with the microphone on.
Where to begin
The best place to start depends on what brought you here. I grouped the reflections and episodes into a few helpful paths.
If you are coming back from injury or illness
Start with the posts and episodes where I talk about rebuilding from tiny movements. These include somatic work, gentle strength, and the slow process of getting comfortable in my body again.
Suggested starting points:
Episodes about gentle movement and early strength experiments
Posts where I reflect on fear, hesitation, and learning to trust my body again
If you are navigating confusing symptoms
These posts explore pain, medical misdiagnosis, and the real impact of midlife hormones. They helped me connect dots I had been ignoring for years.
Suggested starting points:
Frozen shoulder
Endometriosis related pain
Episodes where I unpack patterns I did not see until I said them out loud
If you want motivation without pressure
These reflections focus on curiosity, gentle discipline, and the mindset shifts that matter more than any single workout.
Suggested starting points:
Episodes about small victories
The 30 day movement streak
Realizations that happened mid lift or mid walk
If you want big picture clarity
These give you the sense of the project as a whole and how it fits into midlife strength and health.
Suggested starting points:
Posts about rebuilding identity through movement
The “why” behind my routines
Lessons that show up when I am least expecting them
How to follow along
Most of the deeper reflections live here on Substack.
If you want the lighter, day to day version of this journey, you can find it here:
Instagram for the immediate moments and quick thoughts
YouTube for Shorts, behind the scenes, and experiments
Podcast episodes when I talk through my thoughts while I am actually moving
Each platform shows a different angle of the same story.
Tools I use
I keep things simple. I rely on a few basic pieces of equipment that help me stay consistent.

What I hope you take from this
You do not need to be perfect.
You do not need to look a certain way.
You do not need a complicated plan.
You only need a little curiosity and a willingness to keep beginning again.
If anything here helps you feel less alone in your own movement story, then this project is already doing what I hoped it would.
Remember, my Body can AND so can yours! I’m glad you are here.
Steph
